I found this amazing quilt of the solar system on the National Museum of American History website. Believe it or not, this very modern-looking quilt was made in 1876 by Ellen Harding Baker of Cedar County, Iowa. It is 89" long and 106" wide.
From the NMAH website: "Ellen used the quilt as a visual aid for lectures she gave on astronomy in the towns of West Branch, Moscow, and Lone Tree, Iowa."

That is pretty amazing! It would be fun to mount that on poles like a chuppah or tent, and lay underneath it! May have to make something like that one day...
