Japanese Craft Books: Finished Dress

This is my final post for my, how to sew from Japanese craft books, series. We last talked about sewing. Today I'm showing you my finished dress and reviewing where you can find all the posts.

So first, the finished dress:

バスト : bust

ウエスト : waist

ヒップ : hip

材料 : materials

布 : fabric

幅 : width

接着芯 : interfacing

ゴムテープ : elastic

ボタン : button

木綿 : cotton

麻 : linen

ファスナー : zipper

バイアス布 : bias fabric

糸 : thread

カギホック : hook and eye

前 : front

後ろ : back

袖 : sleeve

カフス : cuff

ョーク : yoke

リボン : belt (literally ribbon)

前見返し : front facing

後ろ見返し : back facing

わ : fold

ギャザ : gather

裏 : wrong side

表 : right side

ステッチ : stitch

バイアス布 : bias fabric

切り込む : clip

Having just read all of this that you've put together, I am amazed, Kuky! I barely have the patience to make clothes with American patterns. I can't imagine figuring it out in a language I cannot even read.

Curtains, though, I'll tackle those in any language.

kuky - you look insanely cute in this dress, i love it. i had no idea the patterns don't include seam allowances so this was a big revelation to say the least after making a dress and then having to resize it to fit an adult! thanks for that crucial bit of info! ursula

oh, thanks! i've just bought 3 books from yes asia and i'm cutting fabric for the first dress this evening.
My dress looked easy, but i'll definitely bookmark this page:-)
